Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video & Music Festival (KLEX), the artists-run, grassroots international festival of experimental cinema and music, is back with its eighth edition, “KLEX 2017: Crossing Over”, 24-26 November 2017. KLEX aims to serve as a platform to introduce contemporary experimental cinema and music from the region and worldwide to the Malaysian audience and to cultivate understanding, learning and exchange among local and international experimental art communities. The festival includes: KLEX Open Programmes, showcasing selected works from the open call from Argentina, Canada, China, Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Singapore, Spain, UK, USA and Vietnam; International Guest Programmes and artist lectures from Germany, Japan, Korea and Singapore, and music and audio-visual performances. Over 70 experimental short films will be screened; and 22 local and international performers from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore and USA will be joining the festival!
This year, the festival events will take place at RAW Art Space (previously known as Findars) and Checkmate Creative. Both venues are located at the historical Chinatown area of downtown Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Panggong. Thanks to the support from Goethe-Institut Malaysia, Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur and Korean Association of Film Education (KAFE), guests of the film programmes from Germany, Japan, Korea and Singapore will attend the festival and meet with the Malaysian audience in person.
See you there at KLEX 2017! Please spread the word and bring your friends!
