Andrew Stiff
A filmmaker and researcher, Andrew Stiff explores the complex relationships between community and the built environment. With a PhD in Architecture and Urban Design from RMIT University (Australia), his research, Moving Experiences: Video Observations of Ho Chi Minh City, highlights urban spaces through innovative filmmaking techniques. He also holds an MSc in Information Systems and Technology from the University of Liverpool and a BA in Fine Art Painting from Chelsea School of Arts (now UAL). Currently a Senior Lecturer and researcher at RMIT Vietnam’s School of Communication & Design, he coordinates the Capstone 1 course, oversees PhD supervisions, and leads HDR research coordination. Previously, he served as Deputy Dean at Linton University College, Malaysia, and as MA Digital Arts Course Leader at the University of the Arts London. He has shown films in festivals around the world, such as the the Venice Architectural film Festival and Supertight, a show held in the Hub Gallery Melbourne. His practice focuses on urban experiences and space, and engages with projects like PlaceLab’s ‘In the Mood’ workshop and the Common Design Studio, a four nation student focused workshop. He is responsible for the creation of an archive of Ho Chi Minh City’s hems, and is currently developing an RMIT Vietnam River Cities Network archive.
Chris Chong Chan
Chris CHONG Chan Fui is a filmmaker and artist who has exhibited at such venues as the Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden, Palais de Tokyo, EYE Film Institute Netherlands, and the Gwangju Biennale, while premiering films at the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight, BFI London, and TIFF’s Wavelengths. He is a Smithsonian Institute fellow (National Museum of Natural History), a Ford Foundation fellow, and a Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Arts Fellow.
Kok Siew-Wai
From Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kok Siew-Wai started out as a video artist, now active as a vocal improviser and artist-curator/organiser. She was based in USA from 1998-2005, received B.A. in Media Study at the State University of New York (Buffalo); and M.F.A. in Electronic Integrated Arts at Alfred University. Siew-Wai shown her videos, curatorial video programmes and performed in Asia, Australia, Europe, and beyond, including Suspaustas Laikas Film Festival 2024, CTM Festival 2019, Image Forum Festival 2019, Instanbul International Experimental Film Festival 2019, allEars Improvised Music Festival 2018, Kaohsiung Film Festival 2018, Singapore International Film Festival 2015, ARKIPEL 2015, Asian Meeting Festival 2015 International Film Festival Rotterdam 2007 (Netherlands), Les Rencontres Internationales 2007 (France) amongst others. In 2022, Siew-Wai was commissioned by VIDEOTAGE (Hong Kong) to curate the programme “Portraits, Through the Camera-eye” with a selection of Malaysian contemporary artists’ videos for its online database kiosk. Throughout the years, she has presented her video curatorial programmes in Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Lithuania, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Vietnam, and the USA.
