JULIEN BRUN (Switzerland/Germany) is a multi-tooled scenic artist, working on set & lighting design, as well as on stage directing and temporary architecture. He has always been interested in the melting of scenic modes of expression and in the creation of new works in the contemporary arts. In 2007, he joined the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Berlin’s Opera), as an assistant director. He participated to the creation of the new productions of the season. It is also there that he directed his first professional staging, creating Kosmos 20, a show of the Opera’s experimental series. Subsequently, Julien Brun decided to perfect his knowledge of the stage and theater in following the formation of Production at the National Theatre School of Canada, from 2007 to 2010. This school has provided him an important technical and artistic background. Julien Brun is now continuing his work of research and exploration of various modes of artistic expression, particularly of set & lighting design, stage directing and temporary architecture; in creating works with his own company insanë; in working for several cultural events; in teaching to theatre students; and in working in collaboration with many directors, choreographers and designers across Europe and North America.
